Owners of quarries and truck drivers staged Monday two sit-ins, one on the International Damascus Road in Sawfar and another on Tarshish-Zahle road, to protest against a decision by the Interior Ministry to halt work at the quarries of Dahr al-Baydar, while quarries elsewhere are still operating.
The protesters also denounced allowing two quarries, owned by Fattouch family and Jihad al-Arab to operate normally.
