Speaker Berri: Disappeared Imam Sadr is alive
Speaker Nabih Berri said on Wednesday that Imam Moussa Sader and his two companions are still alive and need to be freed.

Berri’s comments were made during a rally to commemorate Sadr’s disappearance, adding that the committee tasked to follow up on Sadr’s case could not visit Libya due to the current situation in Tripoli.

“However, the committee held multiple meetings in neighboring countries,” he added.

Sadr was the founder of the Amal Movement. He disappeared in 1978 with his two companions, Sheikh Mohammad Yaacoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine during a trip to Libya.

On another note, Berri said that General Security leader Major General Abbas Ibrahim was negotiating with ISIS militants in the name of the Lebanese state, adding that Ibrahim took the approval of President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Saad Hariri before each step.

Turning to the relations with Kuwait and Syria, Berri said that he will prevent any failure in these relations.

As for the pay scale, Berri dubbed the wage scale as "a rightful demand, adding that the government must curb any increase in prices.

Berri concluded by stressing the need to launch developmental projects in Bekaa to compensate the deprivation that this region is suffering from.
