The hearing session in the case of Abra events kicked off Thursday in the absence of Ahmad al-Assir’s defense attorney.
During the session, Ahmad al-Assir addressed the defense attorney appointed by the military court, saying: “You do not represent me and I do not acknowledge you, nor do I acknowledge this court subject to the Iranian authority, and it would be in your best interest not to represent me.”
Assir explained that his comments were not a threat, noting that he had the right to say “whatever he wants to the attorney.”
“I do not acknowledge anything that comes out of this court and this is an invalid trial,” he added.
Meanwhile, the families of the detainees staged a sit-in outside the Military Court amid tight security measures.
