Introduction to the evening news 04-06-2012

In Tripoli, “Test week” just began without having one description, some consider it only a cease fire, others describe it as a truce while some insist that “fire in under the ashes”, since nobody has been able to explain how ten people get killed and dozens get injured then everything goes back to normal, as if nothing has happened.      

“Test week” in Tripoli is matched by “Waiting week” in Dahiyeh, according to the mystery coming from Turkey; there are no mediators, no information and not even predications.           

The week to prepare for the dialogue just began, even though President Michel Sleiman will resume his Gulf tour on Wednesday, where he will visit UAE and perhaps Qatar. This tour was behind the postponement of the cabinet session till Thursday. PM Najib Mikati met this evening with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai.         

On the Syrian scene, UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon tried to support his envoy Kofi Annan when he declared that Annan’s plan is dedicated to solve the Syrian crisis.
