Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, Ghassan Hasbani, stressed "the importance of linking investment in reconstruction to the activation of institutions and the promotion of political and social stability through the full implementation of the Constitution, which results from national consensus after the war, underlining the need for attention to investments that ensure social stability, activating the regulatory bodies and implementing the laws that curb corruption and promote transparency.
During a speech he delivered at the open dialogue sessions at the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Hasbani highlighted "the importance of political consensus and real reconciliation and security stability, without weapons outside the State's framework, or any external influences, in order to benefit from investments to the maximum."
During a discussion session organized by the Washington Post newspaper, Minister Hasbani stressed that "the post-ISIS Middle East requires an integrated strategy for peace after the end of military action."
Welcoming US President Donald Trump's intention to revive the American interest in the Middle East, he "failed to see how the slogan 'USA First' translates into Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel."
