Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil declared Friday that the proposal of the Free Patriotic Movement is always building a civil state, not only in the elections, but also with the civil status of the citizens and their protection, suggesting the abolition of political confessionalism without amending the constitution in order to maintain equity between Christians and Muslims.
During a press conference, Bassil reiterated his commitment to inter-Christian understanding, hoping that more agreements will be reached in the future.
He also stressed that no one will succeed in creating an issue between the Free Patriotic Movement and Hezbollah.
