Ogassapian to LBCI: Mikati rose to power through the use of “arms”

MP Jean Ogassapian said on Wednesday that President Michel Sleiman wanted to dedicate the first dialogue session to discuss the challenges and threats facing the country.

Ogassapian told Nharkom Said TV show that March 14 forces maintain that the issue of arms must be discussed during all-party talks.

The lawmaker confirmed that the president promised that the next session scheduled for June 25 will be limited to the discussion of weapons.

“[PM Najib] Mikati occupied the premier position through the arms”, he stressed, adding that March 14 forces are open for talks; “but any dialogue that does not discuss the issue of arms is futile”.

In his concluding remarks, Ogassapian confirmed that the Future Movement is committed to the “Baabda declaration”.
