Aoun calls on Banks Association to continue granting loans that would support middle class

President Michel Aoun called on the Association of Banks in Lebanon to maintain the continuity of economic work and the continuation of loans that would support the middle class in the country.

 

Head of the Association, Joseph Tarabay, visited the Baabda Palace Tuesday heading a delegation of the Association, where he held talks with the president concerning the the general situation in the country, recent developments, and the role of banks in maintaining financial stability.

 

The discussions also tackled the the measures taken by banks in coordination with the Central Bank; an issue discussed during the visit of Deputy Treasury Secretary for Counterterrorism, Marshall Billingslea.

 

The delegation raised the issue of fees to the banking sector, double taxation and interest fees, stressing justice in the application of taxes.
