Head of the future Parliamentary bloc MP Fouad Siniora declared that he will not run for the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that his decision does not mean a split with the Future Movement.
During a press conference, Siniora said that the current electoral law is closer to the Orthodox law and contradicts with the Constitution in terms of division of the electoral districts.
He also noted that he succeeded with his colleagues to prevent any threat to the stability of the country after an attempt to topple the cabinet, adding that they succeeded in achieving the highest economic rates in Lebanon’s history with unprecedented financial returns and managed to reconstruct what was destroyed by the Israeli enemy.
“We worked on building diplomatic relations between Lebanon and Syria and I worked on passing the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in order to uncover the criminals and not to seek revenge,” he explained.
