REPORT: Difference between majority and proportional electoral systems

In the majority electoral system, which Lebanon had adopted since the beginning of legislative elections, completion was between complete tickets, incomplete tickets and independent candidates; and whoever received the highest number of votes is considered winner.

However, in a proportional electoral system, independent candidates cannot compete and any ticket must include at least 40% of total number of seats of a given electoral district.
