REPORT: Deputies' salaries, allocations during mandate and beyond

A not small part of the state’s budget is dedicated to the members of parliament, incumbents and formers.

A deputy in Lebanon gets paid a monthly basic salary of LBP 8.5 million, in addition to allocations reaching LBP 2.7 million, which means a total of LBP 11.2 million. However, a deputy pays for the official gazette and pension fund, which brings the salary down to LBP 10,958,000.

When the deputy becomes a former MP, he received 55% of the LBP 8.5 million, if he served one mandate, 65% if he served 2 mandates and 75% if he served three mandates and above.

In case of death of a former deputy, the salary goes to the spouse or the daughter, whether she was single, widower or divorced.
