Doctors on strike tomorrow; only emergency cases will be admitted
Lebanese doctors will answer their syndicate’s call for strike on Monday in denunciation of the arrest of Dr. Moussa Abou Hamad.

In a statement to LBCI, the head of the Doctors Syndicate, Sharaf Abou Sharaf called for the immediate release of Abou Hamad.

Abou Sharaf said Abou Hamad’s arrest was “unfair” and in contravention of the laws that ban the interrogation of any doctor without the presence of the head of the syndicate or his representative.

Abou Sharaf warned of further steps in the event of failure to release the doctor, announcing that a demonstration will be held Monday at 1:00 pm, followed by a march towards the ministry of justice to file a second complaint with the minister of justice.

In turn, Head of the Syndicate of Hospitals Owners Salim Haroun told LBCI that outpatient clinics will refrain from admitting patients tomorrow. However, emergency rooms will work normally while operation rooms will be limited to urgent surgeries.
