Minister al-Mashnouq says most important reform item in new electoral law is expatriates’ voting

Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq declared Wednesday that the most important undisputed reform item included in the new electoral law is the Lebanese expatriates’ voting abroad.

In a joint press conference held with Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, al-Mashnouq stressed that this reform item includes all moral, ethical and security conditions, required to ensure the elections will be held abroad without any holes, whether in terms of voting or in terms of the law.

He noted that the elections abroad will be transparent and accurate, adding that all the measures were taken to ensure this transparency.
