Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea did not attend the confrontation session, which was originally scheduled to be held on Monday, between him and LBCI chairman Pierre El Daher at the Justice Palace in Beirut, while his attorney, MP George Adwan attended.
At the beginning of the session, Adwan presented a request for the trial to be moved to Maarab, citing it will impossible for Geagea, under the current security situation, to get to the Justice Palace.
“Geagea leaves Maarab once a year and suddenly,” Adwan added, stressing that Geagea wants the confrontation since it serves his interest.
As for Pierre El Daher’s attorney, Naoum Farah, he refused to move the trial to Maarab, proposing moving it to a more neutral grounds.
