The General Security Directorate clarified in a statement issued Thursday that it has not yet received the data related to the list of names of the Syrian refugees from the United Nations High Commissioners for Refugees.
The statement came after confusion and conflicting information emerged about the Directorate's possession of lists of the names of displaced Syrians in Lebanon.
"The General Security Directorate would like to make it clear that, despite the request for this information to facilitate the control of the movement of those [displaced] from and to Syria, and therefore coordinate with the UNHCR to take the appropriate decision, the GS has not yet received this data from the Commission," the statement read.
