Shepherd abducted in Shebaa Farms, contacts ongoing to release him

The spokesperson for the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Andrea Tenenti, said on Friday that the LAF informed the UNIFIL of the abduction of shepherd Youssef Mohammad Zahra in the Shebaa Farms, stressing that the UNIFIL is making contacts with the Israeli army to release him.

An Israeli infantry had abducted Zahra while he was grazing his cattle in the liberated region of El-Chahal in the Shebaa Farms. The infantry set an ambush for him in Lebanon, 20 meters north of the borderline, and took him, blindfolded.

Immediately, the LAF filed a complaint to the UNIFIL command in Naqoura considering it to be a “land violation”. The Lebanese army also called for the immediate release of the abductee.
