REPORT: ‘Arab Highway’ project threatened due to landslide risks

The residents of the Bekaa region have been hearing of the project of the “Arab Highway,” which is expected to link Lebanon, starting in the capital Beirut, passing by Syria through the Bekaa, all the way to the deep Iraqi territories.

Following several studies conducted over the project, two parts of it have already been under construction.

However, the dream of the Bekaa residents was halted early 2018, since part of the highway (15 kilometers) is located in a region with risks of landslides, which threatens the fate of the project.
