Investigations into Harb’s assassination attempt continue

Investigations into the attempt to assassinate MP Boutros Harb continued on Saturday as evidence was gathered from the site where the attempted assassination was being prepared as criminal investigators extracted DNA evidence and fingerprints. According to security forces, this process will take some time.      

The sources reiterated through LBCI that it is important to have all the communications data in order to disclose those involved in this failed assassination attempt. The sources called on the Ministry of Telecommunications to send the data accompanied with the technique that is necessary to track serial numbers and track SIM card location, stressing that telecommunications data without this technique will delay investigations and even hamper them.      

Earlier today, MP Boutros Harb was briefed on the latest developments regarding the investigations by both the general director of Internal Security Forces chief General Ashraf Rifi and LAF commander Jean Kahwaji.     

Harb stressed the importance of having access to all the communications data, adding that he is discussing this issue with Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui       

Once again, Harb held the Lebanese state responsible for the country’s insecurity, urging officials to deal with this issue seriously in order to protect the Lebanese people and their leaders.
