Syrian opposition activist arrested at Beirut airport

The Lebanese security forces arrested 26-year-old Zakaria Moutlek, a Syrian activist who arrived from Cairo to Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut last weekend, according to Syrian activists.

An official at the General Security told AFP that Motlek was arrested at the airport upon the order of the concerned security apparatuses, and was then handed over to the Lebanese army.

The source said that it does not know the reason why he was being pursued.

Activist Kinan Ali told AFP that Motlek was arrested at Beirut’s airport on July 8 upon his arrival from Cairo.
