Judge Hammoud requests appeal in Roula Yaacoub case
State Prosecutor Samir Hammoud requested on Thursday the appeal of a court decision acquitting the husband of Roula Yaacoub who is suspected of causing fatal injuries on his wife.
Hammoud called on north Lebanon’s Appeal Judge Nabil Wehbeh to appeal the court’s decision issued on Wednesday.

Five after the murder of Roula Yaacoub and accusing her husband Karam al-Bazi of beating her to death, the Criminal Court in North Lebanon issued its verdict, acquitting the accused following the decision of the majority, who are the judges Khaled Akkari and Ziad al-Dawalibi.

However, the court’s president Judge Dani Chebli opposed the majority’s verdict.
