Jreissati, Khoury say measures will be taken against generators owners

Caretaker Minister of Justice Salim Jreissati asserted on Wednesday that the courts will take the necessary actions toward the “rebellion” carried out on Tuesday by generators owners.

Jreissati’s comments were made during a joint press conference with Caretaker Minister of Economy Raed Khoury.

Jreissati said that the generators owners who cut their services yesterday to protest against the government's decision to install generators meters have carried out "an infringement to the rights of the Lebanese citizens."

For his part, Khoury said that generators owners have no right to "blackmail" the Lebanese citizens.

“The citizens have the right to install a meter without paying any fees,” he concluded by saying.
