At the end of August every year, the mandate of the UNIFIL gets renewed. The United States has tried months ago, through national security advisor John Bolton and UN Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley to amend the mission of the international forces by imposing radical changes to the renewal decision.
Israel has wished to raise again the issue of amending the UNIFIL’s mission.
