March 14: Aoun supports wave of assassinations

The March 14 General Secretariat condemned on Wednesday the head of Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun’s refusal to hand over the communication data to security apparatuses, saying that by “this stance Aoun supports  assassinations waves  in Lebanon”.            

Following its regular meeting, the Secretariat noted that March 14 will participate in the national dialogue only if the communications data were to be handed over to security apparatuses. The implementation of decisions made during previous sessions especially regarding the case of extra-state arms, were another precondition.        

Commenting on the protest letter sent to Syria by President Michel Sleiman, the secretariat said that it aims at protecting Lebanon from the Syrian regime’s attempt to spread its crisis to the Lebanese territory.          

On Israeli attempts to hold Hezbollah and Iran responsible for the Bulgaria attack, March 14 said that this issue needs to be solved quickly, calling on the international community to protect Lebanon from any potential attack.         

In its concluding remarks, the General Secretariat called on the government to provide the Syrian refugees with necessary humanitarian assistance.
