Will the pay scale issue be finalized next Wednesday?

Following a meeting between Labor Minister Salim Jreissati and the Union Coordination committee, the minister declared that during the meeting, it was agreed that the recommendations should meet the demands of the committee, and that the Finance Ministry should implement these recommendations in an honest way. The meeting also concluded that the pay scale should be approved by the committee then referred to the cabinet as a draft law to be discussed and approved.             

For its part, the Union Coordination Committee hoped that the pay scale will be quickly referred to the cabinet, stressing that it will work on keeping the 60% and call for equality regarding the retired issue.    

A number of Lebanese students who had undergone the state official exams, held a sit-in earlier on Friday outside the Grand Serail to protest the delay in the issuance of the exams’ results. The students raised banners calling on the government and teachers to be cooperative with them, holding them directly responsible for this delay.
