Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah commented Friday on Britain’s decision regarding Hezbollah, expecting that other states will add the party to terror lists.
Speaking during a ceremony held on the anniversary of establishing the Islamic Resistance Support Association, Nasrallah said that “when they classify Hezbollah as terrorist and impose sanctions against us, this is because we defeated them and overturned their agendas.”
“When we face financial difficulties as a result of these sanctions, this is part of the war against us; this is an economic and financial war and we must confront it,” he added.
The party chief noted that “the Resistance will not weaken but will grow stronger with more victories,” calling on the Support Association must strengthen their activities, since the resistance needs support.
Commenting on the fight against corruption, Nasrallah stated that financial collapse and bankruptcy mean the collapse of the country, adding that they are fighting an important and national battle in preventing financial collapse, public funds waste and theft as well as corruption at the state’s administrations.
“Whoever steals or thinks about stealing public funds will naturally defend themselves, hence the counter-campaign,” he explained, stressing that they are not in competition with anyone and whoever has an evidence of corruption must submit it to the judiciary, and whoever has corruption evidence against Hezbollah should also submit it to the judiciary, as he said.
On another note, Nasrallah tackled the issue of the state’s finances, saying that financial reforms should start from the state’s budget. “If Hezbollah accepts the neglect of the issue of the state’s finances, it will be a lying and hypocrite party.”
He urged all parties to resort to the judiciary to settle these cases, rather than throwing debates, accusations and insults, calling on the political forces to support the ministers in their fight against corruption in their ministries.
