By the admission of the concerned parties, large contributions and amounts of funds have been spent for several years from the state’s treasury to fund associations, institutions and schools that do not exist.
After MP Hassan Fadlallah presented an urgent draft law to reduce expenses in a number of items listed in the budget, mainly in terms of contributions outside the public sector, came the declaration of Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil to cancel the assistance provided to a number of free schools that were found to be fake, confirming an annual waste of hundreds of millions of Lebanese Pounds.
