Bishop Abou Jaoudeh passes away aged 89
Bishop Roland Abou Jaoudeh passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 89, at the Notre Dame des Secours hospital in Jbeil where he had been in a coma for the last six months.
Born in Jal el-Dib in 1930, Roland Abou Jaoudeh was appointed bishop in 1975 and elected as Patriarchal Vicar, occupying the position throughout the mandate of former Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.
