Bassil launches Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference

Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil said on Friday that the number of means to acquire the Lebanese nationality became four, voicing hopes that a fifth mean will see the light by passing a law that respects the Constitution’s preamble in terms of preventing settlement and granting nationality to children of Lebanese woman married to a foreigner.

Bassil’s comments were made during the opening of the 6th edition of the Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference whereby he announced the launching of a “nationality guideline” and a call center in this regard.

On another note, Bassil stressed that the conference contributes positively "to the growth of the economy and activates trade exchange between Lebanon and other countries by increasing exports to it."

“It also encourages start-up companies and reconstruction projects of Syria and the Levant,” he added.
