PM Hariri: Cabinet session postponed, we need 48 hours to allow tensions to calm down

Prime Minister Saad Hariri declared Tuesday that he decided to postpone the cabinet session, stressing that the quorum was reached and the “Strong Lebanon” bloc ministers had attended.

Speaking from the Grand Serail, Hariri said that “the session was delayed because we need 48 hours to allow tensions to calm down and the judicial procedures to take their course.”

He added that another date for the session will be determined soon.

The Prime Minister stressed that the judiciary would take all necessary steps to hold those who had committed the crime accountable, noting that there is cooperation among all the parties.

“The Constitution guarantees the freedoms and the country’s security is a red line,” Hariri emphasized.
