“Mashrou’ Leila” band voiced regret over any insult to any person’s beliefs through their songs, stressing that what they present does not target any sanctities or beliefs.
They also noted that the band was the victim of blasphemous and defamatory campaigns and false accusations, reiterating that it was not fair to hold the band responsible.
In a statement issued after the Byblos Festival Committee issued a decision to cancel their concert, the band emphasized its respect to the beliefs of others, as well as to the right to be different.
