Prime Minister Saad Hariri declared on Friday that “we are out of time” adding that he will give a 72-hour deadline to his partners in the government to present an honest answer regarding the solution; otherwise a different approach will be adopted.
In a speech addressing the Lebanese people amid protests across the country, Hariri said that “some parties have been putting obstacles in my way since the formation of the cabinet,” adding that obstacles have also hindered all the efforts he deployed towards reform.
“Reforms do not mean taxes, but a change in the way the country works,” he explained.
The prime minister noted that Lebanon is going through an "unprecedented, difficult time,” reiterating that he has been presenting solutions to resolve the crisis for three years.
“Any people going through a political performance like the one we had for months and years will react in the same outrage,” he said.
