Editor-in-chief of Nidaa al-Watan newspaper Beshara Charbel said that the revolution that took place in very important, since the Lebanese youth proved that they are interested in public affairs.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Charbel stated that “an achievement has been made through the resignation of the government,” adding that the revolution is anticipating the upcoming steps and President Aoun eliminated in his speech on Thursday the conspiracy theory and gave the movement its right.
He also pointed out that the political parties have enough pragmatism, stressing that the country is facing a tough political and economic crisis, “where the solution is required from the ruling class to which Hezbollah belongs but is not all of it.”
Commenting on President Aoun’s speech, Charbel said that President Aoun seeks a solution, stressing that the main condition for the solution is the kick off the parliamentary consultations immediately.
“A large part of the Lebanese people oppose the policy of Hezbollah and this revolution does not target the Shiite party but targets the living conditions in Lebanon,” he notes, adding that Hezbollah can no longer have its grip on the cabinet, neither in Lebanon, not abroad.
