Member of the “Strong Lebanon” bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan responded to member of Development and Liberation bloc MP Yassin Jaber, saying that “they have not reviewed the general amnesty law and have not approved it.”
“They are free to submit this law and our position has been announced by Minister Gebran Bassil. Every bloc has a right to have an opinion in the matter,” he said.
In a statement to LBCI, Kanaan stressed that current phase must be respected, noting that the popular movements must exert pressure in the right direction.
The deputy also noted that a political solution is highly needed in the current stage, explaining that President Michel Aoun has been working non-stop in a bid to reach a political solution that satisfies the people.
