$400,000 USD in ransom paid for Youssef Bechara's release
Citizen Youssef Beshara was released on Tuesday, after his wife paid a ransom of $400,000 USD, near Mar Mikhail Church, Chiyah.                

Investigations are still ongoing to reveal the circumstances of the abduction, while Beshara returned to his house in Bsalim amid celebrations and fireworks.                       

Lebanese citizen Youssef Beshara was kidnapped by unidentified armed men on Monday at 5:30 am on Bsalim road. He is the brother of the head of the Syndicate of Bakery Owners and owner of Beshara Bakery.              

Later on Monday, the kidnappers contacted the hostage's wife and asked for a $400,000 USD ransom threatening dire consequences should they fail to comply.
