Road deviations for Sheikh Assir's demonstration in Downtown Beirut today

Sheikh of the Bilal Bin Rabbah Mosque Ahmad Assir will be staging a protest following Friday prayers at 17:00 on the 21st of September 2012. The demonstration is set to take place in Martyr Square, Downtown Beirut to denounce the anti-Islam film [Innocence of Muslims].                

In this regard, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces will be enforcing the following traffic deviations:                 

Affective as of 21/9/2012, 15:00           

All incoming traffic from the direction of the Forum De Beirut, Karantina towards Saifi will be detoured from the Immigrant Statue to the Main Port entrance route.               
All incoming traffic from George Haddad St. Saifi will be detoured towards Charles Helou Boulevard, Karantina.           

Incoming traffic from the intersection at“Falafel Sahyoun”, Fouad Chehab Bridge to be detoured towards Bourj Ghazal.               

All incoming traffic from Riad Soleh Square, Amir Bachir St. to be detoured towards Al-Amine Mosque at the Azariyeh intersection, towards Fouad Chehab bridge.             

All incoming traffic from Bourj Ghazal and Martyr Square to be detoured towards Fouad Chehab Bridge.                


Prevention of parking will enforced as of 15:00 on 21/9/2012 until the end of the demonstration between:             

Immigrant Statue, Charles Helou Boulevard, Saifi and Martyr Square             

Fouad Chehab Bridge, Wegan St., Amir Bachir St., and Riyad Soleh Square towards George Haddad Gouraud intersection.                      

The General Directorate has requested that all citizens comply with the set deviations in order to facilitate traffic.
