March 14 partisans hold rally, head to Riad El Solh Square
March 14 youth organizations held a rally from Beirut’s Martyrs Square towards Riad El Solh Square on Monday evening.
A cautious calm prevailed outside the Grand Serail where protesters have been holding a sit-in since the assassination of Major General Wissam Hassan.

The Future Movement, the Lebanese Forces and the National Liberal Party [Ahrar] had set up 3 tents outside the Serail, stressing on the peaceful nature of their sit-in. Protesters said that they will not cut off roads but will remain before the Serail until the government resigns.

In this regard, the Head of Lebanese Forces' Students League Nadim Yazbeck said that March 14 youth organizations will continue with their peaceful movements outside the Grand Serail in order to topple the government. He called on the Lebanese youth to participate in a peaceful sit-in on Wednesday.

“Our leaders are being killed," Yazbeck said in a speech he held from Riad El Solh Square, adding that this moment resembles the Cedar Revolution in 2005.
