Wahhab to LBCI: Siniora will not return to Prime Ministry no matter what

Former Minister Wiam Wahhab, head of the Arab Tawheed Party, stressed on Monday that his position regarding “this unsuccessful cabinet” did not change, pointing that it remains better than political void. He said that March 14 needs to give the current cabinet a chance to restart its governmental work, calling on it to perform its duties and avoid distractions caused by superficial issues.

Wahhab told Nharkom Said that the attempt to storm the Grand Serail a few days ago was not spontaneous, but planned, stressing that “head of the Future Movement Fouad Siniora will not return to the Prime Ministry no matter what he does.”

In this context, Wahhab added that Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi is a reasonable man and deserves to be appointed as Prime Minister.

On the other hand, Wahhab revealed that the day of his assassination, Brig. Gen. Wissam Hassan was to meet with a journalist, who is currently under investigation, noting that Hezbollah is keen on preventing Sunni-Shiite sedition.

He pointed that MP Walid Jumblatt has conducted a certain reading of the facts, based on which he decided to be the guarantor of the country's national security, stressing that “betting on Assad’s fall is unsuitable for the time being.”

On the other hand, Wahhab considered that “the Syrian opposition tends to take the gangs’ course rather than revolution,” noting that the kidnap of the journalist Fidaa Itani is proof. He added that there is nothing such as the Free Syrian Army, but spheres of influence make up the so called opposition forces.
