Moujahed Hanida killed, murderer arrested

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces declared on Thursday that ISF forces found the body of 42-year-old citizen Moujahed Hanida killed with a knife seized inside his house in Bourj al-Barajneh. It was later revealed that the killer attempted to set the house on fire after stealing jewelry, cash and a cellphone, but the neighbors succeeded in extinguishing the fire preventing it from damaging the contents of the house.           

Following, intensive monitoring and follow-up, the Southern Suburb’s judicial unit of the judicial police was able to determine the location of the perpetrator and arrest him, in Iqlim al-Kahrroub on 24-10-2012. He was identified as 29-year-old Syrian national named M. S.          

Following intense interrogations, he admitted to having committed the crime and stealing an amount of 300 thousand Lebanese pounds, around 500 hundred dollars’ worth of jewelry and a cellphone.                      

The stolen items were seized and returned to the victims’ relatives, while the arrested was referred to the concerned judiciary.
