MP Aoun: Al-Hassan is responsible for his own assassination

"Al-Hassan is responsible for his own assassination...he is the first to be blamed for failing to take precautionary measures to ensure his won safety," these were the striking words voiced by MP Michel Aoun during his weekly press conference following the meeting of his bloc.

"Al-Hassan's assassination is not the death of the nation," Aoun said, adding that the country is not limited to the survival of its leaders or officials.

On the issue of national dialogue he said that it was not up for discussion since many matters remain contradictory.

Aoun called on March 14 to return to parliament or otherwise be held accountable for any failures pertaining to national items because of their boycott.

"There are many issues related to the people's needs that must be tackled, including economic matter and the issue of the ranks and series. March 14 must be responsible with its choices and return to parliament," he said.

Separately, MP Aoun pointed that "investigation regarding his assassination attempt were swift", noting that they have raised legal claims against a number of media outlets regarding the publication of misleading information. These outlets include MTV, LBCI, FUTURE TV, An-Nahar, al-Joumhouriya and others.
