Patriarch Rai thanks Pope for his solidarity with region’s peoples

The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai reiterated his gratitude for the Supreme Pontiff Pope Benedict XVI after the latter has sent the president of the Pontifical Council Cardinal Robert Sarah to express his solidarity with the peoples of Lebanon, Syria and the region amid the current critical situations imposed by growing conflicts.                 

During a holy mass held at Bkerke on the occasion of Caritas’ 40th anniversary, Rai expressed his gratitude for “Caritas Lebanon and its achievements and services offered for Lebanese citizens and refugees.”
