Jordan's citizens march towards Prime Ministry's building

Around 500 Jordanian citizens took part in a rally organized by the trade unions to protest against the increasing fuel prices.

The demonstration which included hundreds of persons kicked off from Shmeisani West Amman towards the 4th Circle Area; few meters away from the Prime Ministry's building.

Meanwhile, Security agents in Jordan were interrogating 130 demonstrators who could face charges for calling for the downfall of U.S. ally King Abdullah in protests triggered by a sharp rise in fuel prices.

Judicial officials said that the young men, many of them in their teens, had been detained for 15 days and could be charged with "threatening the state".

The men were among dozens arrested during the protests that began on Wednesday throughout impoverished towns across the kingdom.
