Nasrallah: Western support of current gvt proves that it is not Hezbollah's gvt

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that the greatest proof that the current government is not “Hezbollah’s government” is western support.         

In a speech he made during the graduation ceremony of university students in Rweiss, Beirut southern suburbs on Sunday afternoon, he said that the March 14’s boycott of sessions did not topple the government, “but brought huge losses to the country.         

“Through the boycott, March 14 leaders want to disrupt the Parliament in order to prevent the ratification of a new electoral law; they gave us two options: elections based on the 1960s electoral law or no elections at all. Both options are bad.”         

Nasrallah called on all parties to meet and look into a new electoral law in order for the party that will win the upcoming elections to form a new government. He described March 14 leaders as a political team relying on foreign powers and committing the same mistake they committed two years ago.        

Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated that the resistance is strong enough to stay immune to all local and foreign conspiracies. He called on the government to stop with the “long sessions” to discuss the ranks and salaries series, urging it to deal with the issue according to its capacities and as an “indisputable” headline since the dispute is over “the practical stage.”           

“It is high time for the government to refer the ranks and salaries series to the Parliament,” he said pointing out that resources to fund the series are available, “but this requires courage and the cooperation of some parties.”        

On the deteriorating living conditions, he warned that the plight in Lebanon has become dire.         

Syrian crisis          

On Syria, Sayyed Nasrallah warned that all media outlets are trying to show Damascus as a city which will fall soon in the hands of the opposition. “If we look at the Syrian map and the areas controlled by the regime and the opposition, we notice that the regime is stronger.”           

Nasrallah expected the situation in Syria to become more complicated. “Those who think that the opposition can take control are mistaken.”     

“In Syria, there is a Syrian regime defending its conviction, an armed opposition engaging in a bloody fighting; the battle will be very long,” he said.          

On al-Qaeda’s intervention in Syria, he said that some governments in the Islamic world and the West set a trap to al-Qaeda in Syria in order for them to kill each other. “Washington does not want the Syrian crisis to end to kill more people and drain Syria.”     

Visit of March 14 to Gaza             

On the visit of March 14 to Gaza, Sayyed Nasrallah said: “I was very happy and this was a good thing; I encourage this coalition to go to Gaza,” he said adding that he does not want March 14 to support the weapons of the resistance in Lebanon; “we get enough recognition when they congratulate the resistance in Gaza.”        

“Upon their return from Gaza, some leaders said that they will not abandon a single inch of Palestine,” he said describing this statement as excellent. Addressing them, he said “If you defend the resistance of Gaza, you can go there at our expense.”           

Sayyed Nasrallah said that “the strong, powerful and terrifying Israel is finished forever,” adding that its collapse began in 2000 when it was “unconditionally defeated and humiliated.”
