Future Bloc: Hezbollah turned into a group hankering after power

The Future Bloc accused on Tuesday Hezbollah of being responsible for the current situation prevailing over the country, “because of the opposition which toppled the unity cabinet of 2001”, stressing that the party became technically responsible for the deterioration of the economic situation.                

Following its weekly meeting, the Future Bloc issued a statement whereby it noted that the latest statements made by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah are a violation of the constitutional institutions, and constitute an explicit recognition of failure and that the party turned from a resistance which once was appreciated, into a group hankering after power as an implementation of regional interests. The bloc stressed that this matter confirms that a statelet can never be an alternative to the state.            

On the other hand, commenting on Mikati’s statement when he said that without the deployment of the Lebanese Army in Tripoli, an emirate would have been established, the Future bloc said that such remarks are a political scandal, serve the benefit of the Syrian regime and mean that Tripoli has become a center for terrorism.                    

In this context, the bloc held the government responsible for the lives of those who fell victims of Tripoli’s clashes, “since the cabinet left the city between the hands of security violators”.                      

However, the Future pointed that Mikati’s position on the Syrian arrest warrants issued against former PM Saad Hariri and MP Okab Saqr was too late, adding that Ter Harfa explosion confirms the fact that extra-state arms do threaten the people’s security.
