Rai: Shame on those who won't sit at the dialogue table

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai met today with State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Nicolas Fattoush at the head of a delegation of Zahle citizens to congratulate the Patriarch for the holidays. Following the meeting, Fattoush said that their visit aims at confirming their support to the Patriarch's approaches which promote moderation against extremism.

In turn, the Patriarch said, "We are living the outcome of the incidents in the Middle East... Lebanon should not indulge in axes; it should be a neutral, diversified country."

"Shame on those who won't sit at the dialogue table," Rai said, addressing politicians.

"It is a shame that political authorities in Lebanon are unable to reach an agreement over an electoral law that meets the Lebanese people's ambitions."

He concluded by calling upon the concerned authorities to sit at the dialogue table to discuss the displaced Syrians issue which is currently the biggest humane, national and social problem that Lebanon suffers from.
