Future bloc reiterates rejection of Orthodox electoral law proposal

The Future bloc rejected on Tuesday any electoral law that affects the coexistence between the Lebanese people, expressing its total objection to the Orthodox gathering electoral proposal, since it “turns the people to sectarian tribes and sends a wrong image about Lebanon.”

Following its weekly meeting, the bloc noted that the adoption of the proportional representation law at this moment in time will increase Hezbollah's hegemony over the country, urging the political parties to cease the heated rhetoric.

On the recent storm which hit Lebanon, the Future bloc stressed the need to send aid to all those affected by the storm, hoping that these people’s situation will not be exploited for political and electoral gains.

On the other hand, the bloc called on the French authorities to respect the French Judiciary and release the Lebanese national George Abdallah, "because his detention is no longer justified".
