Siniora: Mansour’s behavior is unconstitutional

The head of the Future bloc Fouad Siniora expressed surprise toward the position taken by Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour during the meetings of the Arab League in Cairo, when he called for the reinstatement of Syria at the League, noting that he did not take into consideration the position of the President and the Prime Minister.

In this context, Siniora pointed out that “this position is a huge violation to the dissociation policy declared by the Lebanese government and to the Baabda declaration”, adding that it is not permissible for a Foreign Minister to express his personal opinion during Arab and international meetings, since he represents his country and its policies.

However, Siniora said that the parties that asked Mansour to act accordingly should have been more careful, because “the relation between Lebanon and the Arab countries is tied to such stances".

Mansour, called on Wednesday for the "reinstatement of Syria in the Arab League after Arab states failed to resolve the Syrian crisis."
