Chamoun: The country should not remain without cabinet

Head of the National Liberal Party MP Dory Chamoun stressed on Sunday the need to hold discussions in order to form a cabinet of technocrats to supervise over the parliamentary elections, hoping that these discussions will take place in form of consultations rather than dialogue.

Answering a question on whether or not he will participate in a dialogue table aimed at discussing the issue of cabinet formation, Chamoun noted that he supports the formation of a new cabinet as soon as possible, “because the country should not remain in governmental void,” noting that March 14 forces called for a neutral cabinet formed of technocrats who will work on reaching a new electoral law and holding the elections.

Chamoun reiterated his refusal to participate in dialogue with “the other party” to discuss comprehensive national issues.
