MP Frangieh: The March 8 stance in united regarding parliamentary consultations

MP Sleiman Frangieh said on Wednesday that the March 8 coalition will be heading to the parliamentary consultations and mentioned that they will be nominating a consensual Prime Minister or a Prime Minister from the March 8 coalition.            

Following a meeting held in Ain el-Tineh between Speaker Nabih Berri, his political adviser MP Ali Hassan Khalil, caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil, head of the Marada Movement MP Sleiman Frangieh, the political adviser of Hezbollah Secretary General, Hajj Ali Hussein Khalil, MP Hagop Pakradounian and Hovig Mkhitarian representing the Tashnag party, MP Frangieh reiterated his support to the Orthodox Gathering’s electoral law.                          

This as, sources told LBCI that Speaker Nabih Berri did not call for holding a parliamentary session, and will not do so before an agreement is reached among the Lebanese parties in regards to an electoral law.          

The sources added that the March 8 coalition called for the formation of a political government, while March 14 parties prefer a cabinet of technocrats to supervise the parliamentary elections.

On the other hand, Berri received in Ain al-Tineh the Secretary General of the Maronite Patriarchal Departments, Father Antoine Khalifeh, who delvired a private letter from Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai.
