Bahraini police disperse Formula one protesters

Witnesses reported on Friday that the Bahraini police fired tear-gas and sound bombs to separate hundreds of protesters who held demonstrations outside the capital to protest against this month's Formula One Grand Prix.

The protesters who gathered on Thursday night shouted “Your race is a crime”, in reference to motor racing bosses who have insisted on keeping the Bahrain Grand Prix on the Formula One calendar.

The race is expected to take place between the 19th and 21st of April on Sakhir circuit, south of the capital Manama.
