LAF Command: All gunfire attacks will be countered

The Lebanese Armed Forces Command called Friday on all citizens to remain on alert of all plots being devised to drag Lebanon to war, and to be wary of rumors and misleading information spread by religious and political groups, urging all citizens to express their political opinions in a peaceful manner without resorting to violent provocations.                 

The Army Command also called on the Lebanese people to abstain from supporting groups using violence as a mean to achieve their goals, stressing the need to comply with the measures undertaken by the LAF.               

The army added that all gunfire attacks will be countered and life of innocent civilians will be spared the price of political bickering.             

In this context, the command said that the armed forces have been firmly working during the past months on preventing the country a proxy war on its territory, noting that the recent events revealed that some parties insist on raising tension between the Lebanese people on the backdrop of the political division concerning the Syrian crisis.                   

The LAF Command declared that the army kicked off a series of security measures in Tripoli, Sidon, Beirut, Bekaa and Mount Lebanon, stressing that the security plan will be completed in Tripoli and all perpetrators will be prosecuted.
